Good Afternoon Adams Families,

We hope you had a safe week. We miss our Adams Students! We want to let families know that during the week on May 11th, we had 93% of our students participating in online learning activities. We cannot thank families enough for all that you are doing each and every day to support our students.

Some quick announcements, our School Parent Council is asking families to show their creativity and signs of hope through a Chalk your walk project. They are accepting ANY artwork, photographs or videos that showcase positivity, hope and rainbows! We have seen many rainbows in windows around East Boston. Take a picture and send it either through Email to: [email protected] or via Text to: 781-656-5449., or via Whatsapp to Rogelia. We cannot wait to see hope radiating throughout East Boston.

Today we are including the most updated resources we have collected so you have everything in one place. We will continue to add to this document. We know that the amount of information can be overwhelming which is why we wanted to keep it together.

This weekend, I encourage all of us -- parents, care-givers, and teachers -- to pause, take a break, and take care of ourselves too. We are all trying to do right by the kids in this community -- and, to do that, we need to take care of ourselves too.

Esperamos que haya tenido una semana segura. ¡Extrañamos a nuestros estudiantes de Adams! Queremos que las familias sepan que durante la semana del 11 de mayo, el 93% de nuestros estudiantes participaron en actividades de aprendizaje en línea. En un correo electrónico que enviaremos más tarde hoy incluiremos los recursos más actualizados que hemos recopilado para que tenga todo en un solo lugar. Sabemos que la cantidad de información puede ser abrumadora, por eso queríamos mantenerla unida.

Este fin de semana, les animo a todos nosotros, padres, cuidadores y maestros, a hacer una pausa, tomar un descanso y cuidar de nosotros mismos también. Todos estamos tratando de hacer lo correcto por los niños de esta comunidad y, para hacerlo, también debemos cuidarnos a nosotros mismos.

Dear Families,

We hope that everyone had a relaxing weekend. Each Monday, we share the Adams School At Home Learning Website with an updated link to students’ assignments. You can click into the grade level to know what is expected for the week. The goal is to provide families with ALL expectations in one place. Last Friday, families received information from the district regarding grading and attendance expectations for the remainder of the school year:

Schedule: We will share a class schedule with families and students in the coming days.

Attendance: Teachers will record daily attendance each week. Attendance includes completing learning activities or interaction with teachers/staff.

Grading: Students will receive grades and feedback on their assigned projects and tasks. Students will receive a term 3 grade of Meets Expectations, Approaching Expectations, or Not Yet Meeting Expectations.

Advancing to the Next Grade: No student will be held back in their grade. All students will advance to the next grade and will have opportunities for summer learning and additional support in the fall. If parents believe their child would benefit from repeating their grade, they can request a meeting with their teacher.

Students with disabilities: Students will receive services that can reasonably be provided in a remote learning environment by their assigned team of educators in relation to the goals identified in the student’s IEP.

English Learners: Students will receive ESL instruction based on their English Development Level. They should attend classes offered by ESL teachers.

Buenos días. Esperamos que todos hayan tenido un fin de semana relajante.

Como todos los lunes, compartimos el sitio web de Adams School At Home Learning un enlace actualizado a las tareas de los estudiantes.

El viernes pasado, las familias recibieron información del distrito sobre las expectativas de calificación y asistencia para el resto del año escolar.

Horario: Compartiremos un horario de clases con las familias y los estudiantes en los próximos días.

Asistencia: los maestros registrarán la asistencia diaria cada semana. La asistencia incluye completar actividades de aprendizaje o interacción con maestros / personal.

Si los padres creen que su hijo se beneficiaría de repetir el grado, pueden solicitar una reunión con su maestro y la directora.

Estudiantes con discapacidades: los estudiantes recibirán servicios de su equipo de educadores asignado en relación con los objetivos identificados en el IEP del estudiante. Todo dentro de las posibilidades del entorno en línea.

Estudiantes de inglés: los estudiantes recibirán instrucción de ESL según su nivel de desarrollo de inglés. Es requisito atender a la escuela en línea para recibir clases de inglés como segundo idioma.
