Flare Capital Partners was founded in 2013 with a simple but differentiated belief: that healthcare demands a different kind of investor — one with the sector fluency to navigate a complex landscape, and the ecosystem connectivity to drive real commercial outcomes for founders.

More than a decade later, that conviction has not changed. But the healthcare technology landscape has — and so has the platform behind it.

The companies being built today, the role of AI in healthcare, the bar for what founders need from their investors — it all looks different than it did even two years ago. We have been evolving with it. And today, we are sharing a refreshed website that reflects where we are and where we are going.

In recent years, we have been building the platform to match that moment.

1️⃣ An AI Advisory Council connecting founders with strategic partners and senior healthcare executives at the bleeding edge of healthcare AI — including Amgen, Anthropic, Banner Health, CVS Health, Microsoft, and more — to accelerate AI-driven innovation across our portfolio

2️⃣ An Industry Advisory Board representing $1.2T in annual revenue and ~15% of U.S. healthcare spend annually — a curated network helping founders see where the market is heading

3️⃣ A strategic engagement model accounting for nearly $1B+ in direct revenue contribution from our strategic partner network to portfolio companies

4️⃣ Flare Scholars, an annual program building the next generation of healthcare technology leaders — with 509 scholars and counting

We invest in exceptional founders transforming healthcare. This site tells that story.

We’re thrilled to welcome Pamela Walser (Devaney), CPA as Controller at Flare Capital Partners — a pivotal role as our portfolio continues to grow in depth and complexity.

Pam brings an exceptional background, including eight years at KPMG, where she was recognized as a “Rising Star” and selected as a national instructor training new recruits across the country. She later served as Finance Manager at Summit Partners, one of the pre-eminent investment firms in the country, following an accomplished academic career at UMass Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management.

At Flare, Pam will help deepen our portfolio analytics and reporting, supporting meaningful engagement with our nearly three dozen strategic Limited Partners and numerous traditional financial LPs. Our strategic engagement model has already generated nearly $1B in revenue and $275M in co-investments for our portfolio companies — critical early traction as founders work toward product-market fit.

A lifelong Bostonian, Pam recently bought a home in Foxboro sight unseen (and, surprisingly, is not a Patriots superfan). She’s also an avid runner, having completed the NYC and Chicago marathons — Boston still to come.

Please join us in welcoming Pam to the Flare Capital team!

Flare Capital takes the field at Fenway Park! ⚾

On Monday, we brought together 250 founders, operators, and industry leaders at Fenway Park for the inaugural Flare Capital Compass Summit, our newest strategic platform initiative — and it was nothing short of electric.

From Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman🥇reminding us how to effectively perform under pressure, to Adam Grossman sharing how Fenway Sports Management (FSM) thinks about scaling their iconic sports platform, to candid stories from the trenches of seasoned GTM leaders who’ve sold across every healthcare stakeholder imaginable, to tactical deep dives on winning with payers and health systems. Dorothy Gemmell, Kevin Kumler, Michael Sturmer, Liz Kwo MD, MBA, MPH.

We heard from executives and innovators shaping the future of healthcare technology — including Wayne Grodsky (SmarterDx) on selling into health systems, Amy Fahrenkopf, MD, MPH (Carelon) and Mark Nave (Highmark Health) on how health plan buyers really think before they sign, and John Brownstein (Boston Children’s Hospital) on navigating the founder to health system innovator journey.

And our breakout sessions on building world-class teams and earning buyer trust pulled back the curtain on what it takes to scale generational companies. Deepesh Chandra (Montefiore Health System), Mike Matteo, Karl Laskowski, MD, MBA (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts), Erika Pabo, MD, MBA (CenterWell), Margo Hendrickson (Cohere Health) & Sarah Firman.

Of course, no Fenway day would be complete without a little magic — we stepped up to the plate for batting practice, ventured around for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Green Monster, Hall of Fame, and press box, and wrapped the day with a buzzing reception with our broader healthcare tech ecosystem.

A huge thank you to all of our speakers, attendees, and the Flare Capital community for making this such a memorable day. The conversations and connections will carry far beyond Fenway’s iconic walls.
