Picture 1: “Dual-use” refers to agricultural production and electricity production from solar photovoltaic panels occurring together on the same piece of land. This land has been seeded to allow for harvesting of hay between the rows of panels! 🌾💚

The panels in these pictures are also single axis trackers, which means that they follow the trajectory of the sun throughout the day to maximize production! ☀️

For over 30 years, the landowners of our Lane Ave community solar farm owned a plot of 35 acres. Nearing retirement, the family wanted to look for an opportunity for supplemental, passive income and did not want to sell to residential housing developers.

We came in with an offer- a community solar farm on that plot that would not only save residents of their community money but would also offer them a passive income stream for the next 25 years. Pretty sweet deal, right?

Working with the town conservation commission throughout development, Lane Ave was constructed to protect streams, stonewalls, and the town's northern viewshed.
