Our Program Director Stephanie Campbell was recently interviewed by Hannah Reale of NPR affiliate WGBH for a feature on Massachusetts’ efforts to support the doula workforce. The state Department of Public Health has brought us in to run a doula community of practice to inform key policy and implementation decisions ahead. Read the full article:
Doulas aren’t covered under most private insurers. That could soon change in Mass. A new certification process is part of Massachusetts’ goal to enable health insurance plans to cover and improve health outcomes for birth parents in the delivery room.

Developed in partnership with the MA Department of Public Health and the MA Community Birth and Doula Initiative, this doula‑led space brings doulas together to connect, share experiences, and support one another. Open to doulas at all stages, sessions focus on real‑world topics like billing, hospital partnerships, and sustaining your practice.
