Mass General Voice Center

MGH Voice Center recently welcomed Avivah Wang, Otolaryngology Resident from Boston Medical Center, to visit and spend some time in our Surgical Lab with our current fellow, Dr. Antonio Bures. Avivah had the opportunity to dissect a larynx and get hands-on experience with the microsurgery equipment.

A big congratulations to our graduating fellow, Dr. Samir Ballestas!! 🎉 Thank you for all your hard work and dedication this past year.

Dr. Ballestas will be starting his Laryngeal Surgery practice in Barranquilla, Colombia in the upcoming months. We wish him the best of luck in this next chapter and he will surely be missed!

We would like to recognize Emma Willis, Jeremy Wolfberg and Charlie Nudelman for earning the Distinguished Early Career Professionals Certificate from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

Emma and Jeremy are currently PhD students at the Mass General Institute of Health Professions (IHP) who have research Speech-Language Pathologist positions here at the Voice Center and Charlie is an alum of our Vocal Hyperfunction Clinical Research Center and former IHP MS Student.

The Distinguished Early Career Professional (ECP) Certificate was created to recognize and identify ECPs in the fields of audiology and speech-language pathology who are making an impact in the areas of leadership, volunteering, or advocacy at the local, state, and/or national level. This will also highlight the involvement of ECPs in their local, state, and community speech-language-hearing associations.

Congratulations to our graduating fellow, Dr. Michal Plocienniczak! 🎉We had a wonderful year, and we thank you for all your hard work!

We are also pleased to announce that Dr. Plocienniczak will be joining the MGH Voice Center team full time as our new attending starting Fall 2024!
