We join the BAA, running community, and countless other charities in mourning the loss of Susan Hurley. Susan was a pioneer in the running and fundraising world who gave her all to simply help others, especially our foundation. We will miss her dearly and our condolences go out to her family and friends.

Staying active and keeping the body moving is critical after a spinal cord injury. That is why the foundation was happy to be able to present two individuals who suffered spinal cord injuries in 2025 with FES bikes for them to use in the comfort of their own home.

Chet Johnston suffered a spinal cord injury at the T7-T12 vertebrae and Joseph Vallee’s spinal cord injury was at the T4 vertebrae, leaving both young men with paraplegia.

These FES bikes use surface placed electrodes to send low-level electrical pulses that cause coordinated muscle contractions and a pedaling motion. Thanks to Restorative Therapies, Chet and Joseph received the RT300 cycle!
