Gropius House (1937) Lincoln, MA. This is the house designed by Walter Gropius, the founder of the Bauhaus Design School in Germany (1919). The basic idea is the combination of craftsmanship, simplicity, modernism and function. One of the amazing things about this particular house is the influence it has on so many modern and contemporary houses in and around Lincoln. We highly recommend checking it out. You see the Bauhaus influence in everyday objects, styles, typefaces, furniture (Think IKEA) and even the iPhone.
