There are plenty of ways to spread and embrace the holiday cheer - for Audio Description and Braille Expert Tanja Milojevic, it’s enjoying A Christmas Carol with Audio Describers Mikey Rose and Mel Watkins. In partnership with Think Outside the Vox, Tanja recorded an audible version of cast bios and consulted on the Tactile Tour with Mel’s description support, which highlights props and costumes. Thank you to Tanja for her expertise and her company Get Braille @getbraille for printing braille programs. There is one more Audio Described performance of A Christmas Carol this Saturday, December 21st at 2pm. Join us for a Tactile Tour at 1pm, an hour before the show, led by the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company stage managers. Say hi to Think Outside the Vox, who are facilitating and supporting CSC A Christmas Carol on all access fronts. Use promo code ACCESSAD to unlock and purchase tickets. All shows have open captions.

ID 1: Mel Watkins and Tanja Melojevic at the Cutler Majestic Theater (for a description of the space, see Mikey Rose’s wayfinding recording posted on Think Outside the Vox’s page on December 18th) On stage are rainbow painted milk crates stacked in the shape of a Christmas tree. Mel Watkins, a Black woman who wears her hair back with an orange headband and a floral printed dress holds the braille program open, smiling. Next to her is Tanja, a white woman in her mid-30s with dark brown shoulder length hair featuring blond highlights and sky blue eyes. She wears a pink zip up jacket and glasses, smiling and holding an AD device.

ID 2: the Tactile Tour table in the Cutler Majestic Theater lobby, which features props and costumes from the show: Tiny Tim’s small wooden crutch, the ghost of Christmas Past’s crown of holly and golden leaves, bits of lacy fabric worn by the ensemble, and an antler stick which represents the ghost of Christmas Future’s arm.
