Things are changing... 10+ years ago, I built a WordPress site for my wife. I finished it at night. The next morning, she couldn't remember the URL, so she Googled it, and it was there. I submitted it in Search Console (Webmaster Tools at the time), but was still surprised to see it rank that quickly. CMS platforms like WordPress have long had an advantage in that, when set up properly, they notify search engines and others via RSS feeds. Now, Microsoft it taking it to the next level.

Google is continuing to change the way match types work. In theory, this change should be good for businesses because their exact match keywords (and corresponding ads) will be shown instead of competing with broad matches. Is your Google Shopping feed profitable? 2015 Cherokees don't have leaf springs. Most of these Shopping results are for an XJ and are irrelevant. Google doesn't care, they get paid by the click, not the sale. Does your current PPC manager understand your products well enough to know the difference? Does he know Google Shopping well enough to give you better results?
