The Idaho Center for the Book at Albertsons Library is excited to feature “It’s Her Story: Sacajawea” by Randy’L Teton tomorrow August 24 at the National Book Festival in Washington D.C! 🎉
“It’s Her Story: Sacajawea” is a new children's graphic novel written and illustrated by members of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of Fort Hall, Idaho. Sacajawea was the brilliant Shoshone girl who was the only female member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1804-1806. The book brings to life her courage and resilience as she navigates unmapped territories and guides the expedition to the Pacific Ocean.
Author Randy’L Teton served as the model for the Sacajawea U.S. dollar coin that was released in 2000. Now, Teton shares the empowering tale of Sacajawea to inspire and educate young readers about her indomitable spirit. The book is beautifully illustrated by Aly McKnight. 😍
