"They built a Sun that would not fall,
a flawless glow that answered all.
It rose on cue, obeyed the hand,
remade the sky at our command.

No dusk to teach us how to wait,
no night to measure loss or fate.
The light stayed on, a perfect stream,
an endless, softly humming dream.

But I remember older days,
when light arrived without our say.
It crossed the hills, it burned the grain,
it left behind a cost, a stain.

That Sun did not explain its flame,
or ask if we preferred it tamed.
It rose, it set, it scarred, it stained,
and never asked to be remade.

This newer light refuses end,
a song that loops but does not bend.
No final note, no closing line,
just one more verse, then one more time.

So give me dusk, give me the close,
The longest shadow heaven knows.

Give me the truth, that dares to run,
toward setting light, not endless Sun.
For only light that learns to die,
can teach us how, and when, and why.

A finished flame.
A chosen run.
