Monday Morning Artdrop: The story of 2417
This is an interactive piece that I did for a group at the gem center for the arts. We called the installation "2417" after the address of the Gem center.
I sculpted the entire room in an archimedean square with aluminum foil and tape, glow in the dark paint, and sound activated lights.
In the room, we had multiple things that made noise: buttons to push, things to shake, instruments to play and even a rubber chicken.
The interactive art experience was featured on the news as if something to do in Boise in 2019. And the reporter really enjoyed the experience of my room.
Many people who walked through felt it looked like a portal and it was a favorite of the kids that came through.
At the back of the room in a false wall was this piece. Each layer of the wall would turn as if it were an archimedean square. And in the back they went deep into the false wall.
After the year long installation, it was taken down, i kept just this piece. I made it into an outdoor solar sculpture. Was lights that looked like stars. But now I'm in the process of to recreating the sculpture
