Every Little Thing

I joined the South Lake Sketchers out at Tallac on Thursday evening. My tiny version of the old laundry room.

Some cute bear cutouts. Some are painted and have a stand, some can hang on the wall and some I turned into magnets. A fun souvenir. I’m open Thursday through Sunday 11- 3, stop in and say hi.

Today’s painting. 9x12 acrylic on a stretched canvas I painted this from a photo I took Tuesday on a tandem ride up Angora Ridge Rd. This is where we left the road and went down Mule-deer trail. I was experimenting with a looser style and brighter colors and really like this one.

Last Saturday I taught my all ages Plein Air sketchbook class at Tallac Historic Site. We gathered in the art cabin, then we ambled out to the garden by the pond to draw. Later we regrouped back inside and used wet media to complete our little mixed media drawings. My goal for this class is that my students will start the habit of taking their journal with them and sketching wherever they go.

My first dog commission this year, they were hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. A gift from Dad.
