Most pallet manufacturers default to top-grade materials out of habit, not because it's a requirement.
Pallets don't need clear, defect-free boards. They need boards that hold a load and take a nail. B-Grade lumber does both, at a lower cost than material graded for appearance or finish work.
The gap between what a pallet actually requires and what manufacturers typically buy is where the savings live. Buying to spec instead of habit can cut raw material cost without changing anything about what comes off the line.
That's the match we make every day: connecting manufacturers to the grade their product calls for, not the grade that's easiest to default to.

Yesterday was National Logistics Day, and we’d like to recognize the team behind the scenes that helps keep truckloads moving across North America.
Every day, our Logistics team coordinates with drivers, dispatchers and receivers to make sure materials get where they need to go. They solve problems, adjust schedules, track shipments and manage countless details that most people never see.
A huge thank you to our team for everything they do to keep inventory moving.

The North American OSB market is more concentrated than many people realize.
A recent report from Forisk highlights the companies producing OSB across North America, including manufacturers like LP, Tolko and Weyerhaeuser. It’s a good snapshot of how the market is structured and where production capacity sits.
At Silvaris, we have a unique perspective on that market. Through our exclusive partnerships with LP, Tolko and Weyerhaeuser, we help move two-thirds of North America’s B-Grade OSB.
For buyers, staying informed about production is important. But understanding availability, inventory shifts and truckload opportunities can be just as valuable.
If you follow the OSB market, this insight is worth checking out: https://forisk.com/top-2025-osb-producers-in-north-america/
