About the Lowernine.org:
Founded in 2007, lowernine.org is a volunteer organization headquartered in the Lower 9th Ward. lowernine.org is dedicated to returning pre-Katrina residents to their homes by providing volunteer labor to rebuild and renovate houses damaged by the storm.

Since its foundation, lowernine.org has fully rebuilt 98 homes and completed over 400 smaller home renovation projects in the Lower 9th Ward, bringing home more displaced residents than any other single organization in the area.

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina and the ensuing levee breaches flooded 80% of the city of New Orleans and rendered 100% of Lower 9th Ward Properties uninhabitable. The 1/4 mile-long Industrial Canal Breach washed many homes off their foundations completely.

To date, population return in the Lower 9th Ward is on 36.7%. Population return in the rest of the city is 73.8%. Hurricane Katrina was the 12th largest (strongest) and one of the 5 deadliest storms in the history of the United States.

98.1% of residents in the Lower 9th Ward were of African-American heritage prior to the storm and 36.4% of the population lived below the poverty line.

lowernine.org lowernine.org is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to restore and revitalize New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward, one of the hardest-hit communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the ensuing levee breaches of 2005.

House Cleaner needed immediately (TODAY) Pay $13.50-$15/hr DOE. (will train if needed) WEEKLY PAY (Paid at the end of every week.)

This is very part time for now (10-15 hours/week = ~$135 to ~$225/wk) But soon after we get someone hired, more houses and more hours will be added (Up to 18-24 hrs/wk =~$240 to ~$350 WEEKLY)!

For now, Part time, one house a day, 3 to 4 times a week (M-F only). Hours: 3-4 hours a day. -mid mornings (8:30-9:30 start times) to early afternoons (1:00 to 3:30 end times).

You drive to our location on the Boise Bench and then we carpool to clients house in our company vehicle. All house cleaning clients are located in Boise and Meridian.

Description of duties: Light Cleaning: High feather dusting, dusting of surfaces and items, dusting of blinds and window seals, cleaning of floors (i.e. sweeping, vacuuming, moping). Other duties as needed. No heavy lifting. All cleaning supplies provided.

All cleaners may be required to wear a mask (only if clients are in the house), COVID vaccinated required, no exceptions.
