There is a $20 materials fee.
Pre-Engineering: Introduction to Engineering Design 1630
Open to: 9, 10 One Year Course
Prerequisite: Must be concurrently enrolled in a math class
Content: This course emphasizes the development of a design. Students use computer software to produce, analyze and evaluate models of projects solutions. Students study design concepts of form and function and use state-of-the-art technology to translate conceptual design into reproducible products. Students sketch within computer software to design models, apply the design process to solve problems, utilize mathematics (density, surface area, inertia, gyration radii and more) to evaluate parametric models; and explore quality control, marketing, and related career opportunities. Display portfolios are also developed. There is a $20 materials fee.
