The garden is filling in beautifully, with loads of herbs and berries.

I think this chimichurri may be a regular part of my diet, moving forward, at least for the forseeable future. If I make it in advance, in large batches in the food processor, I might be able to make enough for a week. 😋🥰

I wanted a house in the country, but God gave us a house in town. Our budget didn't allow for fancy raised beds or a ready-made chicken coop. We are only allowed 6 hens in our backyard. We made due with what we had available to us, repurposing wood and sheet metal to make a 4'x6'x4' raised bed, a chicken coop and a rabbit run. We are doing what we can with what God has entrusted to us. We are blooming where we are planted.

You can transform your property in as little as a single growing season with proper planning, and with perennial plantings, maintenance becomes much easier, as well.

It has been 3 years of hard work here to get to where we are now. We removed some of the existing landscape and a huge bed of rock with underlying landscape fabric, and we have been slowly adding edible and medicinal plants.
