Today I got a chance to speak about my immigration experience/practice at the law school I graduated from.

It brought back a lot of memories of my own immigration, and how stressful it has been for years. I was so afraid of being deported 😅 And although these fears might seem irrational, literally every single immigrant goes through them daily.

I remember how somewhere mid law school I told my husband I would never practice immigration law, and yet here we are 😆

It’s been so challenging in the last few weeks speaking to people from Ukraine and Russia, trying to find some immigration options for them, and offer some comfort and support while staying strong.

At the end of the day, I’m beyond grateful for the path I was put on in 2013 when I came to the U.S. And although there has been quite a few moments during this time when I was totally ready to give up, I’m so thankful that I persevered. The quote below resonates deeply today.
