Being a keyboard/synth player is wild sometimes. When trying to "build" the sound into the keyboard you're using for that particular song, it seems like every time you hear the song, you hear something different in the tone, the sound, the pitch, etc. The reality of it is, you guys dont notice anything about the sounds I spend hours programming but to me, I find it important to get something that is at least close to the original. The songs in the 80s used technology that is hard to copy on newer machines This is why I have utmost respect to those guys and how creative they were with the process of coming up with the sounds they use.
So support your local musicians (especially us keyboard players) because we work hard so you dont have to :)
