Here in Boise this weekend, we have an exciting lineup of free- and low-cost events, bringing neighbors and friends together to celebrate our shared history, our vibrant community, and everything that makes our city such a special place to call home.
The celebration begins tonight with First Thursday Under the Tree at Cherie Buckner-Webb Park, starting at 5 p.m. This month's theme, Doing History, invites us to think about the role each of us plays in shaping Boise's future. It's also a fun evening for the whole family, with snow cones, block party games, horses, live music, and city vehicles to explore.
On Saturday, the celebration continues with the annual Pancake Breakfast at Cecil D. Andrus Park from 7-10 a.m., followed by the Idaho America 250 4th of July Parade at 10 a.m. After the parade, spend the afternoon at Zoo Boise, where admission is just $2.50 for the day.
Then, bring your blankets and lawn chairs over to Ann Morrison Park for Boise's 4th of July celebration. Food and drink vendors open at 6 p.m., the Boise Philharmonic takes the stage for their first ever free outdoor performance at 9 p.m., followed by a patriotic drone show at 10:15 p.m., and the fireworks finale at 10:30 p.m.
