Grace Roots Gardening
03/17/2024
Got my hands in some dirt today. God I have missed that feeling the past 9 months. I got an planter put up today. The plan is lettuce and strawberries in here to start. Got some bare root strawberries to go in this week and then lots of colorful lettuce seeds to plant.

When you’re making pickles, you may see them to recommend cutting off the blossom end. This is what that referring to. It’s the end of the cucumber that had the flower on it. After the blossom drops, this will leave more of a rough dot versus a smooth dot like the stem end.
The blossom end contains an enzyme that will cause your pickles to become soft. You need to cut at least 1/16 of an inch off that end of the cucumber before pickling to make sure you end up with crisp, crunchy pickles!
