Word from Home
Typical evening in the Rutherford family. One son enjoying a bit of “Interstellar,” *while* watching his Spurs play.🎹🎶🏀🧡🩵🩷

Something on my heart today. There’s an old Scots’ Gaelic word which means “love,” but so much more, too. “Gràdh” (pronounced “grah.”)
It’s not the romantic love we give a sweetheart, nor the love which may grow slowly for a stranger… Gràdh is a love borne of history and place, of belonging and family ties—a love that finds us at our birth and grows stronger all our lives. This love is rooted by the people and places who have led your soul to be what it is today.
It is such a beautiful thought to remember this Gràdh: it ties us to our loved ones who’ve gone before, it helps us truly value our own place and purpose in history, and it carries forward a hope-filled love that reaches into those hearts who will follow in our steps. This poem is my gift to you all today. Be blessed, dear ones.
