Today is my Birthday! I am 59...eek...where did all the years go? As a member of The Boerne High School Class of 1981, we just celebrated our 40th Class Reunion.

Last week, I was honored to help close escrow on a home for one of my dear classmates and her sister's mom's home in San Antonio. I was able to get them a cash offer of $20,000 more than what they thought they could get! And, the home sold for the highest price per square foot so far in the Woods of Shavano. Congratulations on the sale, Cindy and Sherri!

I have recently added a designation to my business. The National Association of Realtors, SRES designation. It means Seniors Real Estate Specialist, specializing in real estate for Senior Citizens and working through all the struggles from "Baby Boomers" to the "Silent Generation". As a younger member of the Baby Boomers, I also identify with so many others. I call it the "Sandwich Generation", being sandwiched between helping my parents and my son's children. Many of you can identify. Contact me if you have any family members who need to sell to help out with their next transitional housing needs. I have a wide resource of services available to help with this sometimes very emotional transition.

I will be celebrating all this month with my 59th birthday, my oldest grandson's 6th birthday, a trip to Biloxi, Mississippi, and Thanksgiving. Yippee November!
Yesterday, we had a Monster Mash at the Church where I worship, St. John Lutheran Church, Boerne, Texas. In this picture is my long-time friend and past client and me. We are hippies; although, mine ended up being more like a gypsy, lol
I live in a barndominium, and do not have a lot of cabinet space. We were at a friend's house at the coast and saw this clever idea. This is a picture of a space-saver for my dish towels.
Now, back to real estate: this week will be the closing of a home of some dear friends' Mom's home in San Antonio. More details next Monday.

Things that have transpired last week have saddened me. I have had to block a few people (my friends) on Facebook because I do not like the jokes and posting their political views, such as something I read this morning from a fellow Church member, "Copied from a friend in the know: Keep a radio or TV on all day today my friends. Heads on swivel. That is all." I replied, "Do not buy in to the chaos! Deep in your heart, you should know what is true and right. If you listened to Pastor Water's sermon yesterday, things will get worse before they get better. Pray for Peace! God bless America!"

On a lighter real estate note, the real estate market is very strong! One of my clients had cancelled their listing back in September, 2020. Well, on January 1, the property was shown, and now there is a contract on it! Another client is a family member who is moving from California to Texas. I am helping them purchase a home that I helped pick out for them. They did not even see the home until after the home inspection was performed! So, there are a lot of "firsts" and different real estate activity than what I am used to. I will be celebrating my 20th year in real estate in 2021. Currently, I have 4 properties under contract, due to close through March...a great and busy 1st quarter for sure. Stay safe and have a good week.
