Dr. Evan Bennett's recent book, Tampa Bay: The Story of an Estuary and Its People, received two awards in recent months: the Silver Medal in Florida Non-fiction from the Florida Book Awards and the Stetson Kennedy Award from the Florida Historical Society.

These World War II-era buildings prove to be long-lasting in Boca Raton 05/30/2025

Great article on the buildings of the Boca Raton Air Field that remain, including the university's remaining T (as in Temporary!) Buildings. FAU was built on a large portion of the former base, which closed in 1947. The Army Air Force trained flight crews in the use of radar here, which made it a very secretive place. Alum Sue Gillis, curator at the Boca Raton Historical Society, is quoted throughout.
