2016.

Ten years ago and still one of the most intense years of my life.

It was the year Redcon1 was born. The energy, the belief, the feeling of starting something from nothing after being forced out of my past… and somehow surpassing what I was told I’d never rebuild. Dallas was on the team. The momentum was real. A dream I didn’t think was possible started materializing fast.

At home, life was full. Two little boys… Asher was four, Aiden was two… and another on the way. A young family, big plans, a whole new life being built.

And at the same time, I lost my dad to colon cancer.

It was joy and grief living side by side. Celebration and heartbreak in the same breath. I’m grateful he got to see me walk away from something that worried him… and start winning again. I wish he’d gotten to see how far it would all go.

2016 taught me something I didn’t fully understand back then… you can be incredibly happy and deeply sad at the same time. Both can be true. That’s life.
