The Stop WOKE Act just got struck down, and yes, we're celebrating. But we're staying ready too.
In 2022, DeSantis signed a law that told professors at Florida's public universities what they could and couldn't teach. Topics like systemic racism, historical injustice, and bias were essentially put on a blacklist. Professors who crossed the line faced termination. Universities risked losing millions in funding. This week, a federal appeals court said enough. The 11th Circuit ruled 2-1 that the Stop WOKE Act violates the First Amendment. Every appellate court that has looked at this question has come to the same conclusion, not one has sided with Florida. This happened because professors, students, and advocates refused to back down, but Florida can still appeal, and we know how much this administration loves a fight.
Swipe through for the full breakdown of what this ruling means, why it matters to you as a student, and what comes next.

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6–3 to uphold state laws banning transgender girls from participating on girls' school sports teams.
For many, this may sound like another legal headline.
But behind every court case is a student who simply wanted to play sports, build friendships, and be part of their school community.
For Florida, this ruling carries particular weight. Our state enacted one of the nation's earliest transgender athlete bans in 2021, and today's decision strengthens the legal footing of laws that are already shaping the lives of students here at home.
At PRISM, we believe understanding these decisions is the first step toward meaningful advocacy. Swipe through to learn what the Court decided, why it matters, and what comes next.
