Here’s a quick guide to the most common graduate-level psychology degrees:

1️⃣ Master’s Degrees

Examples: LMHC, MSW

Focus: Clinical practice, counseling, therapy

Outcome: Licensure for counseling/social work; direct client work

2️⃣ PsyD (Doctor of Psychology)

Focus: Clinical practice and assessment

Outcome: Licensed psychologist; more applied, less research-heavy than a PhD

3️⃣ PhD (Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology)
