The very moment we see our dog doing something wrong is when we will have to try to correct his behavior. This way the dog will associate that call of attention with the fact that he is doing something we do not want him to do. Something that will not happen if we scold him hours later.

A good example of this can be if we get home and we see that our dog has thrown the garbage, has destroyed some furniture or has made some mischief. If we scold him when we get home, he will not understand the reason for this warning because we will not do it at the same moment in which the "little disaster" has occurred.
