Make Your Own Cardboard Mini Owl with Jimi Benedict | Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association Join our third quarter of 2026 artist in residence Jimi Benedict to construct a finished three-dimensional cardboard owl.

Spent the morning enjoying coffee on the front porch listening to the birds, watching the wildlife and reflecting on the freedoms we enjoy everyday. Today we remember those who gave everything.

Blue Ridge Bird Seed Co. is a 2026 Commitment to Conservation recipient! They offer monthly bird walks which helps to educate on migration patterns as well as participate in the Christmas Bird Count which helps to identify and record bird species to help monitor and report on winter bird populations and health. All of their seed products are packaged in recyclable bags or cardboard products. They actively participate in wildlife and habitat preservation by maintaining flower troughs downtown as well as working with teachers at West Fannin Elementary School to help curate their grounds using vegetation, houses, bird baths and feeders for their birding program for their kindergarten classes.
