🧠 Wellness Wednesday: What Is the “Pop” in a Chiropractic Adjustment?
Being a clinic that utilizes multiple chiropractic techniques, we receive a lot of questions about the efficacy and mechanisms of different adjustment styles. Let's get back to the basics. The popping sound that occurs during some adjustments isn’t a bone cracking or being forced back into place. It’s a normal phenomenon called joint cavitation caused by a normal pressure change inside the joint fluid that may create an audible pop.
✔️ Harmless
✔️ Not required for results
The real benefit isn’t the sound (As satisfying as it may be), it’s the neurological response!
All of the joints in the body contain numerous mechanoreceptors. These are the specialized sensory receptors that tell your brain:
✔️ Where a joint is in space
✔️ How well it’s moving
✔️ When to relax or activate muscles
Unfortunately when a joint isn’t moving well, signals become distorted. Manual and instrument assisted chiropractic adjustments deliver a quick, precise stimulus that activates numerous types of mechanoreceptors that are responsible for joint position and movement. This improved input helps:
✔️Normalize motion
✔️Reduce overactive pain signals
✔️Improve communication between the joint, spinal cord, and brain
Manual adjustments may create a pop.
Activator adjustments may not.
Both accomplish the same goal: better information going into the nervous system.
The sound is just physics.
The benefit is neurological.

🌿 Wellness Wednesday: Your Vitamin A, B, C's

Welcome to our new Wellness Wednesday series where we break down the basics of essential vitamins. Today we’re starting at the top of the alphabet with Vitamin A!

What Does Vitamin A Do?
Vitamin A plays a major role in:
👁 Supporting healthy vision (especially night vision)
🛡 Strengthening immune function
🧬 Promoting cell growth and repair
🪖 Aiding skin health and mucous membrane integrity

⚠️ What Happens If You’re Deficient?
Vitamin A deficiency isn’t super common in developed countries, but it can still happen in individuals with poor diet or gut absorption issues.
Signs include: Night blindness, dry eyes or skin, frequent infections, and delayed wound healing.

🥕 Good Food Sources:
Animal-based (preformed Vitamin A): liver, eggs, dairy products, cod liver oil
Plant-based (beta-carotene, converted in the body): carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, red bell peppers, mangoes

Pro tip: 🫒 Vitamin A is fat-soluble, so pair your veggies with a healthy fat (like extra virgin olive oil) to boost absorption!

✅ Recommended Daily Intake:
Men: 900 mcg
Women: 700 mcg (Higher needs during pregnancy & breastfeeding)

💊 Always check with a healthcare provider before starting any supplement. Too much Vitamin A (especially from supplements) can be harmful over time!
