It's been a long time since I re-introduced myself

👋Hi! I'm Anita of Explore Pilates. I invite you to join me on this journey of moving through our lives together. I recently started training in the GYROTONIC expansion system. This is enriching my Pilates practice and just my own body awareness in general.

I'm part serious (I have a lot of letters I could add after my name, plus I'm Asian, so) and part goofy (can't hold a straight face for long, even while arguing).

Being a ballet mom has brought me back to the place I graduated from years ago: Indiana University Jacobs School of Music 🎶🎹

My life has been full of surprises, the best of which are the ones that bring good news, like finding out that I've been a Korean citizen all these years. The plot twist? I was born and lived all my life in Canada 🇨🇦 before coming to the US 🇺🇸

I've been an avid crafter all my life. Each time I try to phase out my jewelry making, I always get a surge of new creative ideas 𝓐𝓷𝓲𝓽𝓪 /𝓥𝓲𝓷𝓽𝓪𝓰𝓮-𝓲𝓷𝓼𝓹𝓲𝓻𝓮𝓭 𝓓𝓮𝓼𝓲𝓰𝓷𝓼

I love good food, our whole family loves food. Food is life, we live to eat. Did you know that the royal trumpet mushroom is a great substitute for porcini mushrooms? An affordable stand in for "funghi fritti" (fried porcini mushrooms).

I'm a diligent recycler and thrifter. I love the history behind an article of clothing more than the purchase itself. Some people like new. For me, the older the better.

Do you like fusion food? Try my kimchi grilled cheese with onion and enoki mushrooms: Colby Jack cheese is best, sauté chopped onion and kimchi, add enoki mushrooms, drizzle with sesame oil and spoon onto the bread and cheese on the skillet. Top with other cheese toast (sourdough) and cook until the cheese melts. Prepare spicy mayo for dipping. Goes well with cauliflower ginger soup with some potato and 1/2 an apple. Lots of thyme. The soup is pureed. I'm the reason our family eats late dinners. I've trained them to expect good food at home! 🍽️😋

Good Pilates is like good food. Each list of ingredients is a concept, cooking is about timing and sequencing (and layering)
