Hot temperatures are expected across Indiana this week, so now is a good time to prepare. A few simple precautions can help you stay safe during the heat:
💦Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.
☀️Limit outdoor activities during the hottest afternoon hours and take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
🚗Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a short time.
Stay aware of the heat, check on family, friends, and neighbors, and take care of yourself this week.
Did you know that The Lilly Library, Indiana University in Bloomington has a rare copy of the Declaration of Independence, known as the Dunlap Broadside? Printed on July 4, 1776, there are only 26 copies known to exist in the world today, and one resides right here in the Hoosier state.
As the 250th anniversary of its signing approaches, the Lilly Library invites the public to see the “Declaration of Independence” exhibition, featuring the Dunlap Broadside along with many other incredible items from that time period. . The exhibition is free to the public, and it runs through mid-December.
“One of the superpowers of the Lilly Library is being able to connect people with these amazing documents from our human past," said Erika Dowell, executive associate director of the Lilly Library.
