Here's something that might surprise you:

Your child's relationship with math doesn't have to be the same as yours.

Maybe you struggled with math in school. Maybe you developed "math anxiety" that you still carry today. Maybe you've said "I'm just not a math person" so many times you believe it.

But that doesn't have to be your child's story.

The difference between your generation and theirs? Tools.

When you were in school, calculators were either banned or barely available. You had to do everything by hand - long division, square roots, complex calculations.

It was tedious, error-prone, and frankly, unnecessary.

Your child has access to tools that make math easier, faster, and more enjoyable. But only if they learn to use them properly.

Dr. Del has been teaching this "new way" for 50+ years. He's watched parents who "hated math" see their children actually enjoy it.

Because when you remove the calculation drudgery, math becomes what it should be: problem-solving, pattern recognition, logical thinking.

Skills that serve you for life, not just for tests.

Most students master the TI-30Xa calculator in about 20 hours (self-paced). Then they can learn practical math concepts without the frustration you experienced.

Want to know a secret that most math teachers won't tell you?

They use calculators for almost everything. Most adults do.

When they're creating tests, grading papers, or solving problems for lesson plans - they reach for a calculator almost every single time.

But then they make your child do the same calculations by hand.

It's like a chef using a food processor to prep ingredients, then making cooking students chop everything with a butter knife.

Why the disconnect?

Because the education system is stuck in the past. They're teaching methods from 1950, not 2024.

Meanwhile, every professional in every math-related field uses calculators as their primary tool.

Dr. Del figured this out decades ago. He started teaching students to use calculators FIRST, then learn concepts.

The result? Students learn faster, understand better, and actually enjoy the process.

They're learning math the way professionals actually do it.

After 50+ years of teaching, Dr. Del has proven this method works for struggling students, average students, and gifted students alike.

Because when you remove the calculation barriers, every child can succeed at math.

I ask every struggling math student the same question:

"When you get the wrong answer, what's usually the problem - you don't understand the concept, or you made a calculation error?"

The answer is always the same: "Calculation error."

Think about what this means.

Students understand the mathematical concepts. They know what steps to take. They can explain the logic behind the problem.

But they get marked wrong because they made an arithmetic mistake while doing calculations by hand.

It's like understanding how to build a house perfectly, but getting fired because you can't hammer nails with a rock instead of a proper hammer.

One student described this frustration: "When I took Algebra 1 and 2, I wasted much time fumbling with a complicated graphing calculator. When I took the first part of an academic test last fall, I froze. I had no idea how to operate my scientific calculator and did not end up with the greatest score."

She understood the math. The tool was the problem.

Here's what's tragic about this:

We're teaching kids that they're "bad at math" when really they're just bad at being human calculators.

But here's the thing - nobody needs to be a human calculator anymore.

Engineers don't do long division by hand.
Scientists don't calculate square roots manually.
Programmers don't solve equations with pencil and paper.

They use tools. The right tools for the job.

Yet we're still grading students based on their ability to perform calculations that professionals never do manually.

It's like requiring medical students to perform surgery with stone knives, then wondering why they struggle.

The same student who was "bad at math" with manual methods had a completely different experience with proper tools: "For the second test this spring, I saved SO much time thanks to the TI-30XA calculator. My calculations were quicker and more accurate."

Same brain. Same understanding. Better tools.

Your child probably understands math better than you think.

They're just being held back by tools that make success unnecessarily difficult.
