SUMMER SUN DAY SUNDAYS COMING!
Seasonal summer is a great time to view the sun. The TCAA will open up their roll-off-roof observatory each Sunday during JUNE if the sky is clear. Sessions will continue into July and August if there is sufficent interest.
Viewing will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Visitors will safely view the sun using both white-light and hydrogen-alpa telescopes. Look for our new A-frame display board with this lovely sign in the parking lot to catch the attention of passersby. Stay tuned for details!
Enjoy! [cjw]

PUBLIC VIEWING SESSION TONIGHT!
Saturday, May 20, 8:30 - 10:30 PM
Sugar Grove Nature Center
Come on out! The forecast for this evening is for a cool, clear, and smoke-free sky! We should be able to see the stars and view celestial objects with our telescopes.
The program begins at 8:30 PM with an illustrated talk about starlight and how astronomers use the art of spectroscopy to learn about stars and nebulae of the night sky.
Afterward, we will have telescopes set up in the parking lot for viewing celestial objects. We will also open up the observatories shown in the accompanying image.
Don't miss it! This is a family-friendly viewing session. There is no cost and no reservations; just show up. Be sure to dress warmly, as it will cool down quickly after sunset.
Drive slowly as you enter and exit the parking lot as there are likely to be people walking around in the darkness. Arrive early to get a good seat.
