- As Dawson stated “Opera is no longer a luxury, Opera is a vital necessity. It belongs to the people. We all must move and keep moving.” As collaborators, we share the same heart for those impacted by this beautiful art form and aim to increase accessibility and representation throughout, continuing the work of Madame Dawson in our respective ways. In these unprecedented times and in the wake of a new momentum towards true equality and inclusion in the Opera industry, it is only fitting that we encourage one another with this saying by Madame Dawson herself. A portion of the proceeds will be going directly to the National Opera House and their efforts to preserve this important legacy and restore the National Negro Opera Company House in Pittsburgh. Not only is it important that we bridge the gap between Opera Lovers, but we must also bridge the gap in accessibility to the arts.
