Migrants Beyond Borders
There are millions of Latinos that can vote and make the difference. LET'S DO IT!
HERE ARE SOME REASONS WHY IT'S IMPORTANT TO TELL IMMIGRANT STORIES:
Counter stereotypes
Telling stories about immigrants can help counter
harmful stereotypes and emphasize our common
humanity.
Provide insight
Stories can provide insight into the bravery, ingenuity, caring, and love of immigrants and refugees
Educate the public
Stories can be a useful tool in educating and
informing the public about the state of the refugee
crisis.
Foster empathy
Stories can foster empathy, which can help
communities remember refugees and seek to help
provide them with relief and safety.
Provide a sense of belonging
For refugees and immigrants who feel compelled to leave their homes, storytelling can provide a sense of home, belonging, and connection in an unfamiliar environment.
