Hello! It's been awhile! The past several months have been quite the rollercoaster ride. I never thought I would be forced to take a step back from work and life to battle cancer...and an extremely rare cancer at that. -Neuroendocrine Carcinoma- which is more commonly found in the lungs, mine was found in my right nasal cavity invading my right eye and travelled into my brain. There is nearly a month that I don't have memories of due to the rapid speed at which this tumor grew, causing my brain to swell immensely. This lead to a severe cognitive decline and a helicopter ride courtesy of Sanford for major surgery. I undoubtedly would not be here today if it weren't for my husband, family and friends. I am happy to say that surgery went well, I have completed 6 weeks of proton radiation at Mayo Clinic and have 2 rounds of chemo left! I'm keeping a lighter schedule while I finish chemotherapy but have a couple July openings left and am currently scheduling into August and September.
