Tis the season. Time to remember, reflect, honor.

I'm going to have to postpone the card draws for a while. I'm still dealing with a lot ofedical stuff and now gardening on top of everything else. The Jasmine at my front gate is heavenly, you should smell the house! Sally says she can smell it across the street!
I will still throw some cards when time allows. Happy Pride weekend in Bisbee!

This deck is unique in the use of both male and female King cards. No male Queen cards though...hmmmm. Perhaps we should call it the Xe of Cups in honor of Pride month?
Well as Shakespeare would say, a card by any other name would still be cool as f*ck! I really love the imagery!
Xe is solidly grounded in bedrock, and yet surrounded by water. Seems to me like Xe is both a portal and a gateway. A paradox of fluidity and rigidness. Protecting the calm harbor from the open sea. Watching over the precious cargo as it sails away into the unknown. Xe knows there are risks but she has prepared the crew as best she can. Xe is lovingly cradling the next ship that is not ready to sail. Yet.
I really love the octopus tentacles as hair. Reminds me of all the historical magic assignations to hair. Sampson for one. Native Americans believe that their hair is just as necessary as an ear or an eye in gathering information from their environment. There is a lot of science to bear these theories out - electromagnetic fields, etc. Xe has the best of all with those tentacles. So much handier than hair!
So I guess in the traditional meanings of the cards that having a female as king would indicate more nurture, more emotion, and definitely more compassion. But still ready to smack somebody eight times at once if they are silly enough to test xyr limits.
What/who do you need to set free? Who are you responsible for? Are your own needs being met?

Feeling confined by her brick and mortar home, with the window curtains closed tight... The Two of Wands has climbed up on the roof for a new perspective. She has a choice to make, and needs some quiet time out in the cool evening air to try sorting it out. Even though she has the whole world in her hands (literally), She still yearns for something more. Some new adventure? Maybe a whole new life? Unrequited love? There is a deep sense of longing in this card. A sense of confinement, and wanting to break free. But there is a choice involved. A big choice, and one that deserves some serious contemplation. Maybe it's a "should I stay or should I go" kind of choice. Maybe it's a "what do I want to be when I grow up" kind of choice. But it seems like her desires are purely emotional and not material. What risks are you willing to take? Are you willing to let go of security in the pursuit of your dreams? What/who feeds your soul? If you could be anywhere, where would that be?
