Despite the lush flowering and exotic appearance, azalea does not belong to tropical plants. Yes, it does not tolerate negative temperatures. But the heat is also harmful for the flowering of the plant. The ideal air temperature for cultivation will be:

Summer – +18-22°C.
Winter – +16-18°C.
In autumn, during the period of laying flower buds, the formation of buds, the temperature should be reduced to +10-12°C.

Buds begin to form on the azalea from the end of October to November. At this time, in conditions of short daylight hours, you need to give the plant additional lighting. Add a few hours to daylight. For this, we recommend using phyto-lamps. You can use daylight lamps or others, if there are no special ones.

The azalea bush should not be too thick. Poor ventilation of the crown provokes the development of diseases. Therefore, remove dried and old shoots, and those that thicken the bush. Remove branches that have grown too much. The tips of the shoots are pinched for good bushing and growth of young branches.

What does azalea like? In natural conditions, they grow in the soft diffused light of the canopy of moist, cool forests of China and India. Therefore, in order to make the azalea bloom, it needs to create conditions that will be similar to its natural environment. This plant is quite demanding in care.
