Happy Mother’s Day!

I don’t normally get excited in anticipation of receiving medical treatment—I generally feel extremely anxious instead. But, today as I drove up to get my first dose of the COVID vaccine, I felt extremely grateful and hopeful.
Grateful for all the heroes—scientists, health providers, and other essential workers—who have tirelessly worked over the last year to keep the rest of us safe and have found ways to move us forward. Today, I’m particularly in awe of the UAB team. Their impeccable organization made the process for administering doses safe and seamless.
And I’m hopeful because of our heroes’ collective works we can finally begin taking steps towards a new sense of normalcy.
Can’t wait to be able to reunite with loved ones and friends that I haven’t seen in over a year. 🙌🙌
