Three Dimensional Dog Training
What if a dog could be part of the classroom? That's the idea behind Matilda's work at Mitchell's Place, and it's changing what a school day can look like for children on the autism spectrum. A facility dog is woven into the day itself: motivating a child to use their voice, turning safety skills into a game, smoothing the hard transitions between rooms, and helping to bring a dysregulated moment back to calm.
It's a model more places should be talking about. And seeing it covered on WBRC 6 News means more families will.
What's even more exciting? This doesn't have to stay inside a classroom.
Through our Train-at-Home Service Dog Programs, we help ASD families turn the dog they already have into a full-fledged, ADA-qualified service dog β coached in your own home, around your own child, in the environment where it matters most. No board-and-train. No waiting years for a placement.
Your own dog could be the one who changes everything. π
Curious whether your dog could be a candidate? Send us a message, we'd love to talk.
