ANP Network: Please share the following information...exciting opportunities for Graduate Students!

The GEDI Program
The American Evaluation Association’s Graduate Education Diversity Internship (GEDI) Program aims to:
• Expand the pool of graduate students of color and from other under-represented groups who have extended their research capacities to evaluation.
• Stimulate evaluation thinking concerning under-represented communities and culturally responsive evaluation.
• Deepen the evaluation profession’s capacity to work in racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse settings.
The interns focus on building skills and confidence in real-world evaluation practices. They work two days a week with their host site and receive a stipend of $10,000, as well as numerous training and professional networking opportunities. Applications are due April 18th, 2019. Questions about the program, as well as internship applications, should be submitted directly to the AEA GEDI Program.

The Marriage Strengthening Research and Dissemination (MAST) Center
The MAST Center, newly funded by the Administration for Children and Families, serves as a nexus between research on marriage and families in the U.S. and programmatic approaches designed to support healthy marriages and families. The Center brings together three nationally-recognized organizations in Healthy Marriage and Relationship Education (HMRE) research, practice, and evaluation—Child Trends, the National Center for Marriage & Family Research at Bowling Green State University, and Public Strategies. A specific focus of our Center is to build capacity for HMRE research and evaluation through mentorship and support of diverse emerging scholars. If a graduate student is matched with us through the GEDI Program, they will have the opportunity to engage in work with leading implementation and evaluation researchers studying HMRE programs and build important skills through connections to both MAST and AEA.

GEDI Program applicants should have a background in research skills, an interest in extending their capacities to the field of evaluation, and a commitment to thinking deeply about culturally responsive evaluation practice. Our ability to host an intern will depend on finding a substantive match. If you know a student who would be a strong candidate for this program and have an interest in working with our Center, let us know! I am a GEDI alum and the primary MAST contact for this opportunity, and I would be happy to chat with them. I can be reached at [email protected].
