CORNERSTONE COVENANT CHURCH NEWS: Unified — Confronting the Spirit of Disunity
This past Sunday at Cornerstone Covenant Church, God’s people gathered for a meaningful morning of worship, fellowship, and communion as they remembered Christ’s sacrifice and celebrated their unity in Him.
Our new sermon series titled “Unified: How to Recognize, Confront, and Extinguish the Spirit of Disunity in the Family and Church” was launched. Using Numbers 12:1-9 as the foundation for the message, the congregation explored the conflict that arose when Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses, revealing how disunity can quietly take root and damage relationships, families, churches, businesses, and communities.
Pastor Willard used a giant Rubik's cube as a visual aid to illustrate the complexity of navigating conflict and restoring unity. Life’s challenges were compared to solving a complicated puzzle, reminding the congregation that many of the issues faced in families, workplaces, churches, and communities can seem overwhelming and difficult to untangle. Just as a Rubik’s Cube requires patience, wisdom, and the right approach to bring every side into alignment, unity requires God’s guidance and a willingness to follow His design.
The message highlighted three ways to recognize the spirit of disunity:
1). Criticism and Complaints – Constant fault-finding and negative speech can create division and weaken relationships.
2). Rooted in Pride – Disunity often begins when individuals elevate their own opinions and desires above God’s purposes.
3). Attacks God’s Established Order – When God’s appointed leadership and authority are undermined, division can spread throughout a family, church, or organization.
As the message concluded, attention was drawn to Jesus’ words in Matthew 12:25: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation.” The church community was encouraged to pursue unity, extend grace, and guard their hearts against attitudes that foster division.
The service served as a powerful reminder that God calls His people to work together in love, humility, and unity. As this new series continues, Cornerstone Covenant Church looks forward to learning practical biblical principles that help strengthen families, churches, and communities through the power of being truly unified.

During the month of June, Cornerstone Covenant Church will enter into a church-wide "Power Down" for all Midweek Services-a sacred time of rest, repair, reflection, and realignment as we intentionally prepare our hearts for what the Lord is doing next.
This is not a pause in purpose, but a prophetic reset for renewal, strengthening, and spiritual recalibration. We encourage every member and Dream Team servant to use this time to seek God deeply, restore balance, strengthen family, renew personal devotion, and return refreshed for the next move of God in our church.
Sometimes God prepares the next season by first calling His people to be still, heal, and hear Him clearly. Let this be your season to rest intentionally so you can return ready for greater impact, greater unity, and greater Kingdom assignment. See you all Sunday! Blessings 😊.

CORNERSTONE COVENANT NEWS: Be the Light Youth Small Group Shines Through Community Outreach
The Youth Student Ministry at Cornerstone continues to make a meaningful impact both inside and outside the church walls through the efforts of its youth small group, “Be the Light,” led by Joe and Felicia Landin.
Recently, the group organized a special outreach project to support a local blessing box that serves individuals and families in need throughout the community.
Youth members were challenged to bring non-perishable food items to help stock the blessing box located near the Chalet. The response from the students was nothing short of remarkable.
According to Felicia, “Last week, we asked the kids to bring non-perishable foods for the blessing box over by the chalet, and boy did they come through! Today, after our Bible study, they completely filled the box and more! There was a homeless gentleman named Valentino who came up to us asking if we had anything sweet. The kids quickly went through everything and gave him a can of fruit cocktail. We all held hands while Joe prayed for him. God was definitely moving. Valentino burst into tears and hugged Joe tightly. He for sure felt God’s presence!”
The evening became much more than a food drive. It was a powerful lesson in compassion, generosity, and sharing the love of Christ with others. As the students gathered around Valentino in prayer, they witnessed firsthand the difference that kindness and faith can make in someone’s life.
The Be the Light small group truly embodies its name by demonstrating what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Through simple acts of service and genuine care for others, these young people are learning that ministry extends far beyond the walls of the church and into the heart of the community.
Cornerstone is proud of Joe and Felicia Landin and the students of Be the Light for their servant-hearted commitment to helping others. Their outreach serves as an inspiring reminder that when God’s people come together in love and obedience, lives can be touched, needs can be met, and hope can be restored.
As these young believers continue to grow in their faith, they are living out Christ’s call to let their light shine before others and making a lasting impact on those around them.
