I’m anchored in the Florida Keys. Approximately 27 miles from Key West. She’s close to Picnic Island, which is just offshore. It’s kinda like a sandbar hangout for boaters. What looks like a building is a old salty dog named Captain Jack. He put four containers together and made a giant floating barge he lives on year round. He invites everyone to join him on his front porch with a bottle of fireball in his hand. There is definitely no shortage of characters around here. There are several events throughout the year held on the island. It’s really something to see very few tourists even know about.
