The last two days I’ve been pretty short on personal time but I made it a priority to do something rather than nothing. It’s hard for me not to go all out with my training but I’m getting better about prioritizing easier days, active recovery, and shorter sessions. Consistency is key. So the next time you don’t think you have enough time to workout, opt for doing SOMETHING rather than nothing. That could be as simple as a walk around the block, some stretching, or body weight movements. Training doesn’t always have to be optimal to start. As Nike would say, just do it.

Back at it after my rest day yesterday. I have a really hard time taking days off but I know they are extremely important. I tell my clients how important rest and recovery are, so I’m trying to take my own advice. I was in the mood for some deadlifts so got in some volume and heavy sets of touch and go deadlifts. Went fairly easy on my legs given I’m still sore from belt squats on Monday. Good amount of upper push/pull to finish off the day. Descending sets like what you see at the end of my notes is a great way to get volume in when you are tired because mentally it gets easier as you go along. Finishing off my lift with a sauna and then teaching my weekly interval training class at tonight at 4:45!
