He's one of the few painters whose name became an adjective — "Boschian" — and one of the rare ones who still feels unsettlingly current 500 years later. Since 2010, Den Bosch (or 's Hertogenbosch) — the city Bosch never left — has staged the Bosch Parade every 2 years: a floating procession of artworks drifting down the Dommel river, free to watch from the banks. 🛶 Each edition has a theme. This year's: Powered by Defects. The idea — that flaws, mistakes, and imperfections aren't failures, but the actual source of creation. Curated by David Bade, an artist from Curaçao. It's a strange kind of tribute without a museum retrospective. A 500-year-old painter's obsessions, restaged as moving sculpture, on the same water that ran through his hometown.
