We had a unique case at Beverly Podiatry today, os intermetatarseum! 👣
This is a rare accessory bone in the foot between the 1st and 2nd metatarsals and cuneiform. Typically, they do not cause symptoms but with certain activities ⚽️🎾⛳️🥋🩰🎳 they can present as pain to the top of the foot or tingling in the 1st web space. 🦶
Resting, offloading, and possible steroid injection are conservative treatments we will exhaust but if symptoms persist we will surgically remove this extra bone. 🦴
