Meal Program at FBC
Two lunches to mention this week. The first is Team 2, with Liz, Tom, Deb Mallon, Deb McHugh, Janice and Jeremy. Liz and company whipped up an extra special meal of steak, gravy, rice, broccoli and cauliflower, Asian noodle salad, rolls Depot Diner chicken and rice soup, and homemade pumpkin cake with maple frosting. This week only 11 guests dined in while the rest chose the to go option. 34 meals were handed out in total, Team 2 gave the rest of the food to our neighbors at the fire house. Thank you so much Team 2 for putting on such a fabulous meal. I also want to thank the Bissell family who reached out to us on Monday to see if we could use two really large pizzas for Monday night supper. We contacted the group serving that night (First Parish) and they were very grateful to have them, Thank you Bissell for your generosity and thoughtfulness. As you all know the meal numbers are all over the place(no one makes reservations) and we are so grateful are teams are able to adjust at a moments notice. As Halloween is approaching if anyone would like to donate a bag of candy so we can make treat bags for our guests we would truly appreciate it. Thanking you in advance.. Eileen & John
Wow, I am really behind in posting. We have been so busy now that we watch our grandson I just don't know where the time goes .First of all Team 4 was up the end of September They had a very busy lunch. 30 dined in and there were 20 to go meals. Teri and Ed were in on Friday to whip up egg salad, tuna salad. potato salad and a garden salad. There was soup from Depot Diner as well as assorted drinks. Pam and Cindy ran the lunch helped by Deb. We are so grateful for their hard work. We never know how many guests will show and some weeks get more swamped than others so again our deepest thanks.
Next we have the first of the month with Team 1 consisting of Gail, Lauren, and Colleen, This is the week Gary and Karen generously supply a boxed meal from Jersey Mike's. along with that there was soup from Depot Diner, fruit salad and a garden salad. Of course there is always coffee and assorted beverages. All 40 meals were quickly distributed to grateful diners. Thank you Team1 for all you do to help keep our meal program going.
