I stopped by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation offices this past week. While I have often bragged about the amazing views of the Hollywood sign from my personal office, the views from the Foundation are at another level.

Over the weekend, I got a call from a filmmaker who needed help getting their short across the finish line. No hesitation, I jumped in and did what I could to keep things moving.

This has been happening more and more lately. Friends, collaborators, first-time directors… people stepping up to make something. And when I can help, whether it’s problem-solving, connecting the right people, or just being an extra set of experienced hands, I’m in.

I’ve spent years in production, from features to a wide range of short-form work. What I’ve come to value most isn’t just the final product, it’s the process. The collaboration. The shared push to make something work against the odds.

That said, I’m not looking to turn this into “another job.” I’m drawn to projects that are genuinely fun, creatively driven, and made by people who love the craft.

It’s a small industry. The more we support each other, the better the work gets.
