This picture represents the most important people in my life.
My wife is an angel. I don’t know where I’d be without her. She is the strength that holds me up when I’m too weak to stand.
My son Kyle has turned into a man I’m proud of and our relationship is stronger than ever. We’ve been through a lot together and have persevered. MY daughter Sofia reminds me everyday of the path that God gave me as a father.
Camila and Matthew McConaughey have been instrumental in my life. I had the great fortune of meeting them and working on their health and fitness programs 12 years ago.
I can truly say that knowing them has changed me…changed my life. I’m a better person for knowing them. Without trying, they have become mentors.
They are kind, thoughtful, supportive and just really good humans. I’ve learned a lot about life, success, faith, failures and so much more.
The amount of love and gratitude I feel when I see this photo is immeasurable. It actually makes me emotional.
Possessions come and go. I judge the quality of my life and success by looking at the people I’m surrounded by; my family and closest friends.
I’m happy. Life is a blessing.
Do you know what a PICC line is? I lost 25 pounds after 4 surgeries and 32 days in the hospital.
I couldn’t eat for the first two weeks and I was bed bound. It’s truly amazing how fast your body wastes muscle tissue when you’re sedentary.
The surgeons told me I was fortunate to be so strong because I could afford to lose some weight. Other people who come in already deconditioned often times have a very poor recovery or don’t recover at all.
Hence yet another reason to stay strong, fit and healthy.
With any luck, the PICC line will come out today. Next up…my ileostomy bag - so much fun!
